Paramount Skydance Will Remove Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report
Paramount Skydance will initiate large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are likely, with the company aiming to reveal all specifics during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.
Prior news had indicated the company planned to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 positions by early November.
By December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.
The company has not provided a response on the matter.
