Chopper Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Popular California Coast
An aircraft soaring over a popular coastal coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, finally losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Recordings posted online show the helicopter beginning to twirl over Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the border of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Details
The Huntington Beach fire department said five people were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were injured. Details on their condition were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
